On June 7th I am boarding a plane to head to Seattle. I have out a stack of travel books from: Lonely Planet, Frommer's, and MILEPOST with a over abundance of sights to see. Having never been to Seattle I am going to try and see as much as possible and be brave and head out into the nightlife by myself and meet the people of Seattle.
My next post will have my own photos of this journey and not some Google searched photo. On the 8th I am heading off on a whale watch to the San Juan Islands with a bit of touring in Friday's Harbor. Looking at the weather forecast it is supposed to rain hmmm.....change plans? Will have to give this some thought, I don't think whales care if it is raining or would a clearer day would be better? I am so excited and hope to see the elusive Orca and Humpback, last whale watch I went on in Maine, we sat for three hours in rolling seas in hot sun and saw nothing! Not a bird, fish, and definitely not a whale. When the boat company asks you if you want a pass for another ride, I was like "Are you kidding" this was hell and the risk of reliving it, no chance. The worst that can happen is we see nothing and I stood in the rain...looking at the forecast for the big adventure, It looks like my vacation might have a theme of cloudy with rain and in the highs of 65 degrees. That has been the weather in Maine for a month with temps. a bit cooler. Can you say "bad hair day"...
Friends are calling wanting to know if I have packed yet. Well, no...I am going to have to re-think all the wonderful summer stuff I was planning to bring and pack fleece, pants, and other cool weather gear. Crap, better go find some, I believe the pickings will be thin if any at the stores.
Off to rustle up some clothes for the trip.
